Stripe payouts, split into the orders behind them

All news

Anyone who reconciles a business that takes payments through Stripe knows the line. It says STRIPE PAYOUT, it carries one amount, and behind it sit the day’s orders, less fees. Matching that lump to the orders it came from is slow, and it is where a lot of reconciliation time goes.

What Skript does now

When a transaction in your bank feed comes from Stripe, and you have connected your Stripe account to Skript, we look up the payout behind that transaction and attach the orders that make it up: order, customer, amount, Stripe’s fee and the net. It comes through in the same feed and the same API response as the bank transaction itself, so there is nothing new to integrate.

Turning it on

Connect your Stripe account from the Skript portal. From then on, every Stripe payout in your feed is split automatically. Skript only reads from Stripe; it never moves money, and you can disconnect at any time.

Why we built it

Bank data is the spine of reconciliation, but it is not the whole skeleton. The receipts live in the systems a business runs on, and the payment platform is the first of them. This is the first of several things we intend to ship in that direction: the data that explains a bank line, delivered next to it.
